Tracecraft Special Investigations, LLC is a full-spectrum, premium private investigation firm owned and operated by a retired FBI agent that provides discreet and specialized services to individuals, businesses, organizations, law firms, corporations, and government entities.
Tracecraft Special Investigations, LLC will make every effort to provide outstanding service and client advocacy whenever and wherever we can. All investigative findings and outcomes will be based solely on neutral and objective truth, facts, and collected evidence.
We are a little 'old-school' in how we handle investigations (...and we like it that way); however, we are not afraid to try new tactics and use the latest technology to achieve positive results.
We believe in the careful observance, strict adherence, and vigorous defense of the Constitution of the United States of America.
We believe in maintaining the very highest ethical standards, professional conduct, and integrity in our investigations and professional dealings with our clients and the general public.
We are victim/client-centered and trauma-informed. We understand complex trauma and how it can affect victims physically and psychologically. We care about you, your circumstances and reputation, and we are here to offer our help and assistance. If we are unable to provide for your needs, we will recognize our limitations, tell you, and refer you to someone else we trust who can...
We believe in the maintenance of the confidences and privacy of our clients and all of their personal and business affairs. We will never divulge client identities or case-related information unless compelled to do so pursuant to a lawful court order or if/when a client may present a clear and present physical danger to themselves or others.
We stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the men and women who are 'the thin blue line' who protect our communities day and night from the scourge of criminals. We collaborate with and support the valiant efforts of local, state, and federal law enforcement and the tremendous daily sacrifices they make for their communities and their country. We recognize these men and women make these sacrifices at great personal risk of illness, injury, or death and often do so at the prolonged expense of loved ones and family members who share their burdens with them. We also pray for those men and women and their affected families who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their communities and the United States.
ETHICAL ISSUES IN PRIVATE INVESTIGATION
Historically, the use of certain investigative techniques has faced intense public scrutiny as well as legal and privacy challenges. In certain cases, investigative practices and technological advances have outpaced legal standards, leaving private investigators and their clients with difficult moral, ethical, and privacy decisions. In recent years, the use of some investigative techniques (e.g. use of banking, financial, and credit information; reliance on GPS tracking devices; "pretexting" to obtain information; doxing, etc.) has often found investigators thrust into ethical gray areas.
As private investigators, it is incumbent upon us to pursue our clients' legitimate interests within the bounds of the law, our professional ethics, and values. Even a hint of unscrupulous behavior is not worth undermining our clients' interests, our reputation, or license. To this end, Tracecraft Special Investigations, LLC will strive to promote the highest ethical and legal standards in the investigative profession. We will promote these standards and the general sharing of ideas with our fellow colleagues in the field in order to improve the overall competence and effectiveness of the vocation.
CODE OF ETHICS
We embrace the following twelve principles to guide our daily business operations:
- High Professional Standards - Tracecraft Special Investigations, LLC will adhere to the highest ethical professional standards and follow the laws and regulatory requirements of the jurisdiction in which we work. We will strive to engage in all investigative endeavors with the highest degree of honesty, integrity, accuracy, and fidelity regarding all dealings with our clients to maintain and preserve their trust. We expect our employees and subcontractors to follow these same ethical and legal guidelines.
- Conflicts - Tracecraft Special Investigations, LLC will not knowingly accept any assignments which can be construed in any way as self-serving or a potential conflict of interest with our business or any other assignments.
- Scope of Work - Tracecraft Special Investigations, LLC will only accept cases in which we have an appropriate level of expertise required to conduct the investigation. We reserve the right to refuse any matter that may be driven by questionable motives or that could otherwise call into question our character, integrity, or professional license. We will not misrepresent ourselves to solicit private, intimate, or confidential information. We will give each client a full and thorough explanation of anticipated work necessary to be performed prior to commencing an investigation.
- Confidentiality - Tracecraft Special Investigations, LLC will safeguard confidential information and exercise due care to prevent its unauthorized disclosure without the consent of our clients, unless required by law or court order.
- Illegality - Tracecraft Special Investigations, LLC will counsel clients against any illegal or unethical course(s) of action.
- Rights of Others - Tracecraft Special Investigations, LLC will be cognizant of and always respect the rights of others.
- Neutrality and Objectivity - Tracecraft Special Investigations, LLC will be fair and maintain neutrality and objectivity in all its professional and investigative endeavors. We will not allow any external pressures to cloud the pursuit of evidence, facts, or truth, nor will we engage in any professional action which could give rise to the perception of bias or prejudice. We will be just and honest in our dealings with all persons.
- Preference - Tracecraft Special Investigations, LLC will not directly or indirectly, knowingly accept, receive, or solicit gifts, gratuities, bribes, benefits, or anything of any substantive value whose acceptance could give rise to an expectation, perception, or appearance of preferential treatment or impropriety.
- Education & Training - Tracecraft Special Investigations, LLC will constantly strive for self-improvement as a company. To that end, we will endeavor to pursue, on an on-going basis, specialized continuing education and training to achieve the highest investigative standards of competency and knowledge relating to sophisticated investigative techniques, new laws, rules, and regulations which may impact the field of private investigation.
- Fees and Results - Tracecraft Special Investigations, LLC will bill a reasonable fee, which is mutually agreed upon, and can be adequately explained. We will not work on a contingency fee. We offer no guarantees as to the result or outcome of any of our investigations.
- Cooperation - Tracecraft Special Investigations, LLC will cooperate with all recognized and responsible law enforcement and governmental agencies, as required by law.
- Reporting - Tracecraft Special Investigations, LLC's findings will be presented in an unbiased and fact-based manner. We will not provide any determination of guilt or innocence and we will not withhold any material information except as required by law.
